SUMO represents a new way of diapering – gentle, sustainable, and conscious. Our cloth diapers combine modern technology with skin-friendly, eco-friendly high-tech materials. Designed for sensitive baby skin, award-winning for design and sustainability.
For parents who sense what is good and decide with heart and mind.
SUMO cloth diapers are made from breathable, antibacterial, eco-friendly high-tech materials, specially developed for sensitive baby skin. Free from irritating chemicals, they soothe skin irritations and help prevent eczema.
The innovative SmartCell™ inner liner with pharmaceutically refined zinc has antibacterial and odor-inhibiting properties. Velvety organic cotton and soft, naturally antibacterial lyocell fibers ensure a pleasantly gentle feel and allow your baby's skin to breathe freely – a tactile experience for baby and parents around the clock.
SUMO has received numerous awards for design, innovation, and sustainability. Our high-performance fabrics were developed in collaboration with leading textile institutes and fabric manufacturers in Portugal and Germany.
At its heart is our specially developed, super-absorbent UFO insert made of multiple layers of modern cellulose fibers that quickly absorb, optimally distribute, and securely retain liquids, setting new performance standards for reusable diapers. This keeps your baby comfortably dry, even during extended wear. Durable materials combine comfort, function, and quality – for modern diapering in the 21st century.
Velvety soft fabrics, elastic bands, and flexible snaps ensure a perfect fit. SUMO is a diaper that grows with your child, for many months. It offers maximum comfort and leak-proof protection. No compromises.
In terms of handling, SUMO is comparable to a disposable diaper, only gentler on the skin, more attractive, sportier, and more responsible. Thanks to the diaper liner and wet bag, everything remains hygienic and uncomplicated: wash, reuse, and continue. Sustainable diapering has never been easier.
On average, a baby needs over 5,000 disposable diapers. With SUMO, around 25 cloth diapers are enough. This not only saves money, but also a lot of waste. SUMO is zero waste, without compromise: no waste, no pollutants, no extra effort.
Many parents even report that their children become potty-trained faster.
SUMO is a one-time purchase that quickly pays for itself: buy once, use for a long time – for one child, for siblings or perhaps for the next family.
Diapering with SUMO is not only sustainable, but also enjoyable. Our cloth diapers are thoughtfully designed, made with high-quality materials, and simply look great.
SUMO is the diaper for parents who appreciate aesthetics. Because sustainable diapering can also be beautiful and fun.
Our diaper has a slim fit and fits comfortably under regular baby clothes. This keeps your baby flexible, free, and looking cute. And in summer? It easily doubles as adorable panties – SUMO style.
Cloth diapering has never been easier. Here we briefly explain what you need to get started:

Step 4: Storing and washing your diapers is a breeze with our towable diaper bag . A popular essential for daycare, on the go, and at home!
Using SUMO diapers can reduce your family's ecological footprint by 40% *.
*when washed at max. 60°C/140°F
Instead of 5000+ disposable diapers, you only need 25 SUMO diapers.
By using SUMO diapers, you radically reduce waste - 1.2 tons per child!
Your baby is in diapers 24/7! Avoid plastic and irritating chemicals, and instead use 100% natural materials that care for your baby's skin.
The design process begins with the fibers: SUMO products are made from our specially developed, innovative high-performance fabrics and were developed in collaboration with leading textile institutes in Portugal and Germany.
Our award-winning SUMOtex™ fabrics are particularly gentle on the skin, sustainable and at the same time extremely absorbent.
Only the best for your baby.
You'll need approximately 6-8 absorbent inserts per day. You should also have about 3 cloth diaper covers.
How many diapers you need in total depends entirely on your washing schedule. For a relaxed schedule (washing 3 times a week), we usually recommend 6 diaper covers and 14 inserts. You'll find this quantity in our Fulltime Set. The set contains enough diapers so you don't have to wash more often than every three days.
SUMOs are made to last and can be reused countless times. Once a child is potty trained, you can pass the SUMOs on.
Our SUMO comes in three sizes. Size S is ideal for newborns up to approximately 5 kg. Size M fits children between 4 and 11 kg, and size L is ideal for children up to 15 kg.
Depending on your child's build, the different sizes will fit differently. However, the waistband can be individually adjusted using the ties and snaps on the diaper.
We recommend washing the diapers and inserts on a 40-60°C cycle with pre-wash and a maximum spin speed of 1200 rpm. Please do not use fabric softener and air dry the diapers only.
The UFO absorbent insert should be washed after each use; the cover does not necessarily need to be washed as long as it is still dry.
We recommend washing all soiled diapers at least every two to three days.
Our Dreamliner diaper liners collect your child's waste, making disposal easy. This means that feces NEVER end up in your washing machine, and with DREAMLINER you have even less contact with your child's stool than with regular diapers.
With good flushing performance, you can simply flush our DREAMLINER down the toilet. If you're unsure about your pipes or the performance of your sink, you can also simply dispose of it with your regular trash or wash it.
We recommend discussing this topic directly with the daycare center. However, with our DREAMLINER and a wet bag, you'll make it considerably easier for the daycare staff to handle cloth diapers.
Yes, you can. We recommend adding a muslin cloth as a booster to the diaper alongside the UFO to keep the diaper as dry as possible.
Although it may sound somewhat surprising, we are very often told that traveling with SUMOs is easier than traveling with disposable diapers, as diapers in other markets can function very differently or vary greatly in price.
However, it is important that you have regular access to a washing machine and do not leave your diapers unwashed for more than three days.
Our SUMO diaper is made with specially developed high-performance fabrics that offer ideal liquid distribution and absorbency. Depending on the child, our diapers are leak-proof for 4-6 hours. We recommend using a booster at night.
Doing the best for your baby and the environment has never been easier. All you need is a waterproof SUMO diaper cover and one of our highly absorbent UFO inserts.
Opt for a ready-made diaper set and nothing can go wrong. Here we show you how to easily prepare, put on, and wash our diapers.
1. Open the SUMO diaper and lay them flat so that the inside faces upwards.
2. Take a UFO insert and slide it into the waterproof bag.
3. Tear off a sheet of Dreamliner from the roll.
4. Place the Dreamliner sheet on top and insert it into the pocket over the UFO insert.
1. Slide the SUMO under your baby's bottom and fold it up between their legs.
2. Thread one of the straps through the side loop and close the snap fasteners.
3. Repeat the same process on the other side and tie the two ribbons into a bow.
4. Check that nothing protrudes and that there are no gaps between the leg elastics and the skin.
1. Remove the soiled Dreamliner and dispose of it in the household waste, or flush it down the toilet with full flushing power.
2. Remove the used UFO insert and store it in the towable wash bag .
3. Once the SUMO outer diaper is clean, you can wipe it once and reuse it several times.
4. If the SUMO outer diaper is soiled, store it together with the UFO inserts in the towable wash bag.
1. Store diapers and inserts in a laundry bag for up to 3 days. Open the bag and place it directly into the washing machine. Everything will fall out automatically during the wash cycle.
2. Wash everything in a 40°C - 60°C wash program with pre-wash, spin speed max. 1200 rpm.
3. We recommend a sensitive, all-purpose laundry detergent powder, which usually cleans cloth diapers hygienically even at low temperatures. Do not use fabric softener.
4. It's best to air dry everything. UFO inserts can go in the dryer on low heat – but not SUMO diapers.
